Q and A:

Where can I purchase a ziptrip?
90-Minute & All-Day ziptrip X cards must be purchased on board. 7, 31, and Youth ziptrip passes can be purchased at the GBTA Terminal, by mail, and at these locations.

What is the fare?
The fare is $1.50 for 90 minutes of ride time.

Are transfers free?
There is no need for transfers. With the fare of $1.50, all riders can enjoy 90 minutes of unrestricted bus use—and ride, any bus, in any direction.

Do I still need exact change?
Yes. For a ziptrip X 90-Minute or All-Day, you will need exact change.

Can I still use tokens?
Yes, the GBTA will still sell tokens at the Bridgeport Bus Terminal for $1.50 each.

Can I use the ziptrip to transfer to a Wheels, Milford Transit, CTTransit, Valley Transit or HART bus?
Yes, the GBTA ziptrip passes are accepted when transferring from a GBTA bus. On your return trip, you will need to pay the fares required by the other systems.

Can I share my ziptrip with someone else?
No. All ziptrip passes are non-transferable and can only be used by the person who buys it. Also, each ziptrip has a “pass-back” feature that prevents it from being used by other riders.

Who is eligible for half-fare ziptrip passes?
Riders over 65 years of age and riders with disabilities will be eligible for half-fare ziptrip passes, with proper ID.

How Do I Use My ziptrip?
Before you pay your fare, tell your driver which pass you would like.

Ziptrip X 90-Minute Unlimited
When you board the bus and before you pay your fare, tell the driver that you would like a ziptrip X 90-minute and put the $1.50 fare into the fare box. The driver will provide you with a pass that can be used over and over for 90-minutes from the time you purchased it.

Ziptrip X 1-Day Unlimited
When you board the bus and before you pay your fare, tell the driver that you would like a ziptrip X 1-day and put the $3.00 fare into the fare box. The driver will provide you with a pass that can be used over and over for the remainder of the day on which it was purchased. If you take two or more trips each day, you should consider the ziptrip X 1-day.

Ziptrip 7-Day Unlimited
The ziptrip 7 may be purchased at the terminal, through the mail, at or at these locations.
Insert your ziptrip 7 into the fare box when boarding to activate it. The pass will remain valid for 7 days from your first use – just swipe it through the fare box every time you board. If you take 10 or more trips each week, you should consider the ziptrip 7.
